Austco has received a $1.57m CAD contract to supply the industry-leading Tacera Nurse Call platform for a new specialized rehabilitation and complex care hospital.
Austco won the project through a two-year partnership with EllisDon, the construction and building services company. After a rigorous competitive process, Austco was chosen on the basis that Tacera’s software interfaces, using open protocols, are the most flexible and advanced.
Located in Toronto, West Park Healthcare Centre’s new hospital is currently under construction with completion scheduled for 2023, and Austco system delivery in 2022. The new, approximately 730,000 square foot hospital, surrounded by nature on 27 acres in a park-like setting will feature 314 inpatient beds and double its current outpatient space to meet the future healthcare needs of Canadians.
All 314 beds will feature the Austco Patient Station and will include EllisDon’s Alarm & Event Management System, integratED. Workflow optimization and staff efficiency solutions will be used to enhance communication between patients and caregivers. An open architecture design will provide the hospital with both long-term system scalability and flexibility.
“We are committed to providing innovative solutions that deliver quality care and optimize the patient experience,” Clayton Astles, CEO of Austco, said. “Our exceptional Tacera nurse call system is integral to quality operation of any hospital and our technology drives productivity and ensures improvement in patient care.”
